Snowdonia National Park Authority: " Snowdonia National Park is on the west coast of Britain and covers 823 square miles of diverse landscapes. Snowdonia boasts the highest mountain in England and Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, as well as a wealth of picturesque villages like Betws y Coed and Beddgelert. Snowdonia is an area steeped in culture and local history, where more than half of its population speak Welsh".
This trip runs from Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime, you will be collected from Bangor Station in our Land Rover, then load up your bags and we will take you to your luxury cottage for the weekend.
Over the weekend we will explore several different locations with varied terrain and flora in the Snowdonia National Park, including Moorland, Lakes, Waterfalls and Mountain Tracks. In October the leaves of the trees are beginning to change colour and if conditions allow we will be able to capture some beautiful images in the morning and evening light.
Our accomodation is a Cottage with views across to Snowdon itself, we will have our our own cooking area and a lounge with screen for indoor learning learning and for reviewing our images that we take during the weekend and somewhere to learn if the weather is inclement.
Phil has many year's photography experience and has spent many many weekends in Snowdonia over the last 25 years; exploring the moors, many different routes to the top of Snowdonia and Trefan in winter and summer, as well as exploring the lakes, waterfalls, mountain biking and walking trials. In a small group of just 6, Phil will guide and coach you during the weekend, including the following subjects:
The techniques of landscape photography that will improve your images moving you from taking snaps to creating postcards, we will experiment with these techniques to enable you to create images that inspire awe or relate a story.
Planning for The Light
Being in the right location at the right time of the day is all about preparation and planning. We’ll cover which locations to choose and why, but may have to jump in the Land Rover to check out over locations to capture the optimum light.
Long Exposure Technique
Phil will show you how to create images using long exposure on your camera in order to capture an image of interest.
Due to changing weather and light conditions the exact itinerary will be planned closer to the weekend.
