This is a six day trip to the stunning Lofoten Islands in Arctic Northern Norway. This is a photographer’s paradise with amazing views, from deep fjords, imposing sheer mountain faces, frozen waterfalls, fishing villages nestled on rocky outcrops, secluded harbours, beautiful glacial valleys to stunning island views, an amazing environment for lovers of the great outdoors, wildlife and photography.
The Lofoten Islands are an archipelago consisting of seven main islands, with a tiny population. The islands are linked by dramatic bridges that stretch up and across the fjords and bays. This is the land of the Vikings, who travelled from the bays and fjords of these island in search of fish, new lands and plunder.
The arctic air is pure and crisp, the Sunrises and sunsets in the winter last several hours giving photographers fantastic opportunities to capture the landscapes in this dramatic location. We will also aim to capture the Northern Lights during some of the evenings.
This scenery is some of the most dramatic in the world, you will never have seen anything quite like this before!
During the trip we will travel to several locations for sunset each day, you will always be accompanied by a photographic guide to show you the location and help you with achieving the best shots possible. We will then be out for the rest of the day to capture the sunset before returning to our base. Dependent on the weather we will then head back out during the evening to search for the Northern Lights.
Our accommodation are beautiful fishing huts or “Rorbiers” that have been recently lovingly restored and furnished in a contemporary style, it is centrally located so that we can quickly and easily explore the westerly area of the Lofoten archipelago. enabling us to access many dramatic locations without too much travel time. The accommodation also has a meeting room where we can review and discuss our photographs during the trip.
We will be also providing a three course Norwegian Dinner on the first evening so that we can get to know each other.

We will leave our fishing hut accommodation and head to Moskenesoya Island, at the southern most tip of the Lofoten Islands, here we will explore this glacier shaped landscape from sunrise to sunset and visit some of the most iconic locations in Lofoten such as the village of A. In the evening we will head out to search for the Northern Lights.
We will head back out to the rugged Moskenesoya Island for sunset and spend the day exploring the rugged coastline and the iconic photogenic villages of Hamnoy and Reine that are perched on rocky outcrops, this is another full day of tutored Photography touring locations and villages from Sunrise to Sunset and again in the evening we will again head out seeking The Northern Lights
This morning we will travel around Vestvagoy Island, we will travel to the famous Haukland beach, the white sands here make it one of the most beautiful in Norway, a few miles on we will travel to Unstad to capture the Arctic Surfers at play in the chilling Norwegian Sea; before heading back stopping at the lakes of the Haukland valley.In the evening we will again head out hunting for The Northern Lights
We spend the day on Flakstadoya Island, travelling up the stunning mountainous valley to Ramberg Beach, with its white sands and mountain backdrop, we will alss visit Nusfjord, one of Norway’s oldest and best-preserved fishing villages, with it’s historical harbour and idyllic wooden red fisherman’s rorbiers and imposing yellow fishing buildings. In the evening we will again drive out to capture The Northern Lights.
Viking Museum Visit – Return to Airport.We will visit the Lofotr Viking Museum in Borg which features a reconstruction of the largest Viking-era house ever found. The impressive 83-meter (272-ft) structure is on the hillside overlooking the fields and bay below. We will then drive back to Harstad Airport.
The weather in the Lofoten is changeable so the itinery may change, but we will visit the iconic photographic locations, including Reine, Hamnoy, Haukland Beach, Ramberg and many more, if the nights skies allow we will also head out to capture the Northern Lights.
